Employer-led Scottish Land Use Apprenticeships Review

Please help us to ensure that land use qualifications and apprenticeships deliver what businesses need, both now and in the future.

Skills Development Scotland has implemented a new approach to designing apprenticeships, ensuring that businesses are at the heart of that process.

With support from Lantra, employees and employers have a fantastic opportunity to help develop the content of new apprenticeships supporting entry and progression in:

  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture
  • Rural skills (including rural land use and management, environmental conservation, fisheries management, estate maintenance and estate management)
  • Trees and timber
  • Game and wildlife management.

What's Involved?

  • Current and recent apprentices and employees will take part in Employee Workshops in April, describing what they do on a day-to-day basis and helping to refine draft ‘work situations’
  • Employers and other industry experts will then join Technical Expert Groups, reviewing work situations, drafting learning outcomes and apprenticeship frameworks, and identifying complementary work-based learning and technical training requirements
  • Learning experts will then help to design competence-based qualifications and assessment guidelines, reflecting industry requirements.

Why Should I Participate?

This is a unique opportunity to help lead change and influence learning and training, and your input is key to ensuring the new apprenticeships deliver both current and future business requirements.
